On Tuesday, come out to Potbellys for the Victoria’s Secret fashion show viewing party hosted by the Florida State VS PINK campus reps! The party starts at 9pm with the fashion show starting at 10pm. Be one of the first 100 guests & you will receive a free koozie.

Details: Your Victoria’s Secret PINK reps are throwing a party to promote the new heartbreaker bra. The first 200 girls will be taking home a PINK wallet. They will also be raffling off VS PINK bras. When you bring any old bras that you would like to donate, you will get an extra raffle ticket. All bras will be donated to the Refuge House through Student United Way. There will also be bra fittings, games, activites, cookies & fun music!

Details: The Levi’s Curve ID Mirror, Mirror Campus Tour is making a stop at FSU on Tuesday! Are you tired of the lack of shopping in Tallahassee? Are you sick of driving to Jacksonville, Tampa, and/or Orlando just to get your shopping fix in? Then do I have good news for you!

For the first time ever, Urban Outfitters is taking it’s store on tour. The purpose of this tour is to bring the Urban Outiftters shopping experience to cities without a permanent Urban Outfitters location. Starting on Monday, October 17th, Urban Outfitters will set up shop on the corner of East College Avenue & South Duval Street. The store will be open for business on Monday, October 17th to Thursday, October 20th from 12pm-8pm.

This Urban Outfitters store is unlike any other pop up shop. They used two shipping containers to create the Store on Tour (you can watch the video here). The Store on Tour will have a little bit of everything with something special in the mix just for the Florida State Seminole Fans! Dockers, DRY Soda, and Tortoise & Blonde will also be joining Urban Outfitters on Tour.

This summer, I interned for a public relations company in New York City. After living in New York for three months & vowing to try a new restaurant every night (although, I admit, we occasionally cheated), I found some amazing restaurant finds.

Here is the best of the best!

BEST PIZZA: Keste – best pizza in New York hands down & my overall favorite restaurant!

BEST BURRITO: Rachel’s Taqueria in Brooklyn – absolutely loved this burrito & you really can’t beat the prices.

BEST BURGER: Local West – delicious burgers whether you order a regular burger or the sliders. Eat on the rooftop deck if it is nice out!

BEST FRIES: Shorty’s – such a small town bar with delicious fries that left us coming back for more! They are known for the Philly cheesesteak.

BEST MAC & CHEESE: Southern Hospitality – whether you just want it on the side or for the main course, you really can’t go wrong. If you want different flavors of mac & cheese, try restaurants like S’mac & Macbar.

BEST SANDWICH: Alice’s Tea Cup – delicious & filling! You should also try one of their AMAZING scones for only $3. Plus, you really can’t beat the whimsical atmosphere.

BEST HOT DOG: Ditch Plains – they have something called the Ditch Dog which is a hot dog covered in mac n’ cheese! It started out as a joke until they realized how delicious it was!

BEST QUICK BITE: Shake Shack – when I just wanted to grab something quick on my way home from work, I always opted for Shake Shack. There is usually always a line but it goes quick, I promise. I recommend ordering the cheese fries – so good!

BEST PANCAKES: Clinton Baking Company – voted “Best Pancakes” in 2008 by New York Magazine. Enough said!

BEST BRUNCH: Pangea – delicious food, inexpensive prices & the perfect outdoor seating area to enjoy brunch on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

BEST BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH: Aspen’s Social Club – $25 gets you an entree & unlimited mimosas & bloody marys. We went here for a friend’s birthday & the inside is fabulously decorated. Great food, wonderful service & a unique atmosphere for the win!

BEST MARGARITA: Burrito Loco – the BEST.

BEST DOUGHNUTS: Doughnut Plant – so many different types of doughnuts ranging from glazed to creme brulee to peanut butter & jelly.

BEST COOKIES: Levain Bakery – these cookies are hard on the outside, soft (almost cake-like) on the inside and HUGE. I highly recommend ordering the double chocolate peanut butter cookie but you really can’t go wrong!

BEST FROZEN YOGURT: 16 Handles – in Tallahassee, I am surrounded by tons of self-serve frozen yogurt places that this place instantly felt like home to me. 16 different flavors all day, every day with tons of amazing toppings.

BEST CUPCAKE: Crumb’s Bake Shop although my other favorites include Butterlane Cupcakes & The Cupcake Stop truck. They recently came out with cobbler cupcakes which I am now addicted to. I’ve tried the apple cobbler & cherry cobbler – both delicious! Also love the cookies & cream cupcake.

BEST CAKE: Billy’s Bakery – for $5, you will get the largest & most delicious piece of cake in all of New York!

BEST DESSERT: Max Brenners – whether you want chocolate fondue, a sundae or s’mores pizza, you really can’t go wrong with Max Brenners. So go ahead & skip dinner one night to head here for dessert!

Our spring 2011 release party will be held at Midtown Filling Station on Tuesday, March 15th at 9pm. For the past two years, the FSU campus reps have held a nationwide clothing drive, volunteered at the Boys & Girls Club, and hosted the VS PINK campus tour. I have had the pleasure of working with Jenna and Brandi & can honestly say that they have enjoyed their time as campus reps, learned a lot & scored some awesome VS PINK swag along the way. I wish I would have known about this amazing opportunity!

If chosen, you will be responsible for:
-Planning and executing PINK events on campus
-Utilizing social media outlets to raise PINK awareness on campus and throughout the local community
-Encouraging event publicity via fliers, social media networks, public advertisements, etc.
-Communicating daily on www.vspinkoncampus.com (a secure intranet site for campus reps only) through messages/blogs/phone calls with your PINK supervisor
-Completing PINK related weekly surveys that give insight as to what is happening on your campus
-Establishing sustainable relationships with on campus figures such as licensing directors, student group exec boards, etc.

One winter trend that has been nearly impossible to ignore this holiday season are hats inspired by animals. Hats inspired by bears, (sock) monkeys, cats & even reindeer can be seen nearly everywhere on the Internet & in stores. Some hats, such as the one featured in black from AKIRA, is a combination of a hat, scarf & mittens. This animal trend is great for having fun with fashion & staying warm. Even Quarter Moon Imports in Tallahassee has embraced this recent trend by offering fair trade animal hats with matching mittens. I’ve also seen coats with a hat-inspired hood. In California, a young boy had a warm coat on with a polar bear hood. It was pretty much the cutest thing ever!

Every year, the Collegiate Merchandising Association & Fashion Inc. join forces to plan one of the most anticipated on-campus events of the year – Fall Fashion Week. Fall fashion week was created to raise awareness of Florida State University’s fashion program, raise money for the Refuge House, and spotlight FSU’s design students at the Project Reconstruction fashion show.

MONDAY: Sidewalk Catwalk from 10am-2pm on Landis Green
TUESDAY: Member Mixer “Things We Love” from 5:30-7pm in Sandels Room 203
WEDNESDAY: Trunk Show at Pi Beta Phi from 6:30-8:30pm – Vendors include Stella & Dot Jewelry, Cole Couture, Sweet Blue/Blue Abaco, Janelle’s Jewelry & Etsy sellers with 10% of the profits donated to the Refuge House
THURSDAY: Movie Under the Stars at 8:30pm on Landis Green
FRIDAY: Project Reconstuction fashion show at 8pm in the Union Ballrooms
