Last week, I hosted CLUTCH Magazine’s spring 2011 release party. This release party was extra special because it was not only the release of our 10th issue but it was also my last release party serving as the PR Director for CLUTCH.

All in all, this experience has been amazing! I accomplished everything that I wanted to accomplish including starting the CLUTCH blog, offering an online edition of the magazine, and throwing the hugest release parties in CLUTCH history. I’ve been able to gain experience in event planning and social media all while working for the magazine I once saw on MTV back in 2007.

I am so blessed that I was able to serve as the PR director for the past two semesters & am anxious for any future opportunities that might come my way next semester. To all of you who are interviewing for director positions this week, good luck! This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you won’t regret!

I am so happy to announce the release of CLUTCH Magazine’s 10th issue!

For those of you who don’t know, CLUTCH Magazine is Florida State University’s first successful student-run fashion publication. We cover everything from fashion and beauty trends to menswear and culture.

Our spring 2011 release party will be held at Midtown Filling Station on Tuesday, March 15th at 9pm. Make sure to get there early because the first 50 guests receive their own personal VIP goodie bag filled with fabulous items like Tarte lip stains, CampusFood.com gift cards, coupons & gift cards from local vendors & more! If you decide to come fashionably late – that’s okay too! Every person will be entered to win one of our amazing raffle prizes. This year, we are even giving away an HDTV thanks to CollegeCandy.com.

As the end of 2010 is upon us, I wanted to take this time to reflect on the past. As far as fashion, it is clear that this year three brands dominated my heart this year. These three brands include French Connection, Marc by Marc Jacobs & Wildfox Couture. Thinking deeper than that, I compiled a list of my favorite finds this year.

This list included a Theory blazer, Gucci sunglasses, French Connection dress, Michael Kors watch, Wildfox Couture sweatshirt, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, Juicy Couture riding boots & the Marc by Marc Jacobs perfect purse. Although some of these items made the list because they were a killer deal, they have all become staples in my wardrobe this year.

But of course, this is a time for not only reflecting on fashion, but also on myself personally. 2010 was a major year in my life & I am thankful for everything – the good times and bad.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

-Served as the secretary for FSU’s Collegiate Merchandising Association, ran for 2011 President & lost by one vote but no regrets – everything happens for a reason!
- Became the Public Relations Director for FSU’s CLUTCH Magazine. Instantly began working on finding a way to publish an online version of the magazine (for free, of course!) & starting a blog.
- Completed my first internship with Intern Queen Inc. and will continue on as a campus ambassador next semester
- Met Andrea through my summer internship with Intern Queen Inc. & we collaborated in the fall to create the first-ever #CampusFashion Twitter chat – HUGE success!
- Became a campus ambassador for Kembrel where I began increasing awareness of this awesome website on Florida State’s campus while also saving up money to intern in NYC this summer

After reflecting on all that I have accomplished in one year, I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life & what all year 2011 will bring.

#CampusFashion will be a bi-weekly Twitter chat hosted by myself and Andrea Teggart, the PR Director for Ohio University’s fashion magazine. Andrea & I interned together over the summer & have been collaborating, planning & organizing #CampusFashion since the beginning of the fall semester. The goal of #CampusFashion is to be able to easily communicate & collaborate with campus fashion magazines from across the country as well as with our loyal fans & readers. I am ecstatic to announce that as of right now, there are a total of ten fashion magazines that will be participating in this event.
