DIY Friendship Bracelets

Friendship bracelets are not just for little girls anymore. Designers are now putting their own spin on the classic friendship bracelet. My favorite friendship bracelets were the ones designed by Mary Kate Steinmiller, market editor for Teen Vogue. They really gave off the essence of the classic friendship bracelet with more glam. At $60 they are definitely a splurge but still fun to admire. To save money, you can make your own friendship bracelets for cheap.

Mary Kate Steinmiller handmade bracelets can be found at Inven.tory and Charlotte Ronson stores, both in NYC.

Surf Warehouse in Orlando $3.95

Nordstrom $88.00

In the most recent Nordstrom catalog, I found this dogeared leather wrap bracelet that I loved. The only problem? It was $88 and I wasn’t sure if I loved it THAT much. Still I went to check it out in the store. In the catalog, the bracelet is wrapped around the girls arm twice which looked really cute on her. In reality, it would have went around at least three or four times on me in order to fit. This bracelet is really long because it can double as a choker. Nice that its versatile but I know that I would only ever wear it as a bracelet so I would prefer it to be shorter. The long bracelet just looked awkward on my tiny wrists. Weeks later I found the exact bracelet I had been looking for. At Prime Outlets Orlando, I had went into a surf shop and as I was walking out, this bracelet had caught my eye. It looked very similar to the Nordstrom bracelet except it was actually a bracelet, shorter and you didn’t have to tie it. I was so happy that I had finally found the bracelet that I had really wanted and it was only $3.95!

If you like the dogeared leather wrap bracelet from Nordstrom, they offer it in both gold and silver.
